Culminating - Movie Poster

Please comment your name, an emoji or just saying 'Hey' so I know you have seen the page and are aware of expectations.
You are going to be creating your very own movie poster! You are going to create a movie that you would like to star in by yourself or with your friends. You will be responsible for coming up with the title, the names, the genre, the colours, the photos, backgrounds, taglines, and etc in order to create an effective movie poster for your made-up movie!

Assignment Part #1 – The Poster

You see them everywhere. Movie posters are prominently displayed on billboards, in the lobby of your local movie theater, in magazines, on the Internet, and even on the sides of buses. But how often do you stop and think about the effects movie posters have on you?

It's important to remember that movie posters are advertisements. The goal of a poster essentially is to "sell" the movie—to make you want to see it. How does it do that? The visual elements on a movie poster can convey powerful messages. The best posters may make you anxiously anticipate an upcoming release. The worst ones may not have a persuasive effect at all.

The goal is to create an engaging Movie Poster using your Photoshop/Photooea skills. Keep in mind genre, color and the mood you are trying to convey. Make it look professional!

The POSTER should communicate the following:

 The title of the movie in an easy to read, professional-looking font that is appropriate to the mood,
genre and overall design of the film
 The genre (comedy, action, horror, etc.)
 The stars of the film
 Consistent design or “look” for the concept that suits the genre or mood of the movie
 The list of director, cast, writers, producers, film company, rating, website
 Don’t forget the release date

Individual Reflection

Some More Examples:

Picture
It: Chapter Two

The poster for the first It had one red
balloon on it, so of course you make one
with two for the sequel. It: Chapter
Two isn’t exactly an understated movie,
but this poster is, and in an effectively
unsettling way.
Picture
Joker

The framing of this image is what makes it
interesting, with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in
a moment of deranged ecstasy atop the
steps that have already become a tourist
attraction in New York City. Why all that
open space above Phoenix’s head?
There’s no correct answer but there’s
plenty of ways to interpret it. To me, all
that space reflects the freedom he feels in
this moment of the film, when he finally
embraces his inner Joker.
