Please add a comment below so I know you have seen the page and are aware of expectations. Thanks! - Da Silva
A new band at CtK wants to create a CD cover for its first album.  The target audience for this group is teenagers. You can create the name of your band, the album title, and must have 10 songs listed on the back (make up the titles). Make sure all of the titles and images used are appropriate for a Catholic school setting.
  1. Create a new blank document.  Change the unit of measure to millimeters (mm).

  2. Select 255 mm for the width, and 120 mm for the height.  (120 mm for each of the front and back, plus 15 mm for the spine in the middle)

  3. Click View -> Rulers. Right click on the new rulers and select millimetres. Then Click and drag with your mouse from the far left vertical ruler toward the centre (you should be pulling a light blue line now.) Place one of these lines on 120mm and another on 135mm to create a space for your spine of the cover. The guidelines will NOT show up when you print or export the image so don't worry about it being in the way later.

  4. The front of each CD should include the artwork, band name, a parental advisory warning logo & album title.

  5. The back cover should include artwork, a label logo, a barcode, and the song listings.  The spine area must have the band name and album title. The more realistic it looks, the better!

  6. You MUST use at least 1 picture that does NOT come from the Internet - meaning a picture that YOU took.  You can use your phone to take this picture.

  7. Include a half-page reflection journal detailing your reasoning for the choices you made (colour schemes, images, layout, etc) and talk about what areas of Photoshop/PhotoPea you had the most difficulty with (Save as a PSD and submit via the website when complete!)
  8. Be Creative and Original! Do some research and even watch some Youtube Tutorials to assist you in creating your desired look. Your cover should match your genre choice!
