Due: April 14th by Midnight
Please add a comment below so I know you have seen the page and are aware of expectations. Thanks! - Da Silva
This next assignment will give you the chance to be creative while expressing your interests and personal style.
PLEASE USE GOOGLE CHROME IF YOU ARE USING PHOTOPEA
Follow these steps:
Now, using the internet, find at least THREE photos for each of the letters of your name and you are required to take ONE photo yourselves (not of yourself, but a photo you took with your phones or cameras) that also fit into that category to represent yourself. These photos will be layered behind your name layer to make it appear as if the photos are 'in' the letter of your name.
Each letter of your name should represent yourself in some way: your favourite foods, places you've travelled, music you listen to. There will be no doubles of images allowed so be creative with your choices!
Use layers to your advantage – you’re going to have a lot of moving parts in this image so structure and label your work so you don’t get confused.
Try finding .png files. These will make the layering of your images more effective. jpeg's will have a background that you will have to remove. .png files removes the extra step.
To search for only .png files on google, search for whatever you would like...I would search for cameras for example - i would type this into Google.... cameras filetype:png
You can add filetype:png after any search term to tell Google to only return .png files!
Be creative and try to use as many tools we have learned about in Photoshop effectively!
Have Fun!!
This assignment is all about you so don't be afraid to express yourselves!

Follow these steps:
- Create a new document in Photoshop/PhotoPea with a size of 11 inches by 8.5 inches, with 300 dpi and a transparent background.
- Create a background for your work – can be a solid colour or a gradient.
- Choosing a thick font, type your name on your document and make sure you choose black or white accurately depending on your background. This is created on a layer different from your background layer.
- While holding shift, use the magic wand tool to select each letter of your name.
- Then click on your background layer.
- Hit delete.
- Then delete your text layer. This will leave you with your background that has the letters of your name ‘cut’ out of it.

How to get started
This will get you started. Now you are going to have to import your photos into your project, and move them like we did in class using Photoshop.
To create the effect like the example below: Click Transform Controls in the modifier bar after selecting the transform tool in order to change the size or rotation of your pictures.
Finally, the Background layer that has your name cut out of it needs to be placed at the top of your layers in order for this effect to work.
