Lettering is the process of forming letters, numbers, and other characters in a drawing. It is used to describe, or provide detailed specifications for, an object. We want our lettering to be LEGIBLE and UNIFORM in style so be patient when performing these exercises - practise makes perfect with this.
Below is a PDF that explains lettering and the process as well as an exercise document which will be just for you to practise - and finally an assignment in which each student will be blocking an 8.5"X11" sheet of A4 paper and completing a lettering assignment.
You will benefit from using the line practise in a previous lesson by beginning with light construction lines then going over them again.
And again, remember, BE PATIENT AND TAKE YOUR TIME.
